The party in Bisbee got started at the turn of the 20th Century, when rapid economic growth and industrial expansion were reasons to raise the roof. The promise of electricity lighted up imaginations thanks in large part to the discovery of copper in them thar hills. Progressivism was taking hold across the country, empowering movements like women’s suffrage and minimum wage protection. Immigrants flocked to urban centers, and Bisbee was among the most alluring destinations. This city was built to celebrate, and tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1899.
